· Effective 1 August 2024, we have important updates for passenger credit cards and administration fees for Cathay Pacific ticket issuance. sold and issued in India.
· Credit cards acceptable are either Visa, MasterCard and Amex until further notice.
· A standard percentage (2.8084%) of total ticket amount (fare plus taxes/surcharges) will be charged per passenger (excluding infants), per ticket and collected through the OB code. IATA define the OB code as a code dedicated to ticketing fees.
· The credit card service fee will not be charged if the itinerary originates from Hong Kong and credit card acceptance may not be permitted for some fare types. Please refer to individual fare rules for details.
· The fee will apply for all tickets whether one way or return and the amount has been set to cover reasonable costs of facilitating a credit card transaction.
· In order to ensure a smooth booking process for agents, the OB code will automatically be quoted at all times in standard GDS fare pricing entries at time of ticketing when a credit card is chosen as a form of payment.
· Agents will be alerted that fees apply at the time of fare display/pricing with final calculation of the fees at ticketing.
· It is imperative that the fee be collected using the OB code for all tickets issued in India, validated to CX (160). The GDS will auto calculate and charge the OB fee.
· The OB code will not show on the ticket image in the GDS, as it is not classed as a tax as defined by IATA. It will however show on the Passenger Itinerary Receipt as a ticket fee.
· The credit card service fee will be applied to all tickets once credit card is wholly or partially used, with the exception of ticket re-issuance.
· The credit card service fee is non-refundable.
· Travel agents should ensure that the OB fee appears on the passenger itinerary receipt for your customers. Any display failures, please check with your GDS/service provider.
